HOMECOMING 2000
Flin Flon, Creighton, Channing, and Denare Beach

This was the party of the century !

Homecoming weekend has come and gone... Although we found many old friends and aquaintances I am sure we did not find time to talk to all in the short time available.

The message board will remain up so that you may leave a message for those you never got the chance to say "HI" to or the old girlfriend/boyfriend you never got a chance to give that "Big Hug" to...

On the message board a poem was left by Louis Martel that we feel conveys the thoughts most those returning for the homecoming.

THANK YOU FLIN FLON

One year, ten, twenty or thirty,
It was too long to be away;
And I say to you Flin Flon, Homecoming 2000,
You have made the day.

A bit apprehensive after so many years,
Should I travel that road, with a few little fears ?

But surprises were many, so wonderful too;
A hug from a girlfriend, hearing Out of the Blue.

When I was uncertain and memory did sag,
I looked in your eyes, and at your name tag.

The faces have changed, and hair colour too,
But deep in my heart, I knew it was you.

A walk aroung town, driving up Sippel's hill,
A Phantom Lake run, a look at the mill.
To Rotary Park and climbing the rocks,
The places we lived - so many thoughts.

The old hockey rink, the Community Hall,
Hugs and handshakes were many, we had a real ball.

For all of us, age takes it toll,
Homecoming 2000 replenished the soul.

From us to you, wherever we roam,
Thank you from our hearts, for calling us home.

Louis Edward Martel and Family,
July 3, 2000
