Background
The idea for a Friendship Centre in Flin Flon originated in 1964. There wass a definite need for a focal point for Aboriginal people travelling to the Flin Flon area. Further Studies indicated that a combination Friendship Centre and Hostel would address the needs of Aboriginal people. Donations from service clubs and a bank loan backed by local citizens provided the necessary capital to purchase propery. The Friendship Centre opened its doors for business in May 1966.
Today the Friendship Centre has evolved to deliver programs, services and activities from our multi-complex facility. The facility consists of a Restaurant, Hostel, Handicraft Outlet, Administration Offices and Recreation/Assembly Hall.
